A realistic person mostly focused on negativity because he saw reality around him and most of the time it is not as per his expectations. They are to find the positive meaning of every situation.

German physician Johann Christian August Heinroth coined the term “psychosomatic.” According to this theory the mind can encourage both mental and physical illness. Just think about that. Negative thoughts and emotions are the foundation of any illness and disease.
Do you know about placebo effect? In Latin the word “placebo” means “I will please.” In the medical field a placebo is known as a pharmacologically inert substance which may produce therapeutic results because of the belief in its efficacy. Means a sugar pill can heal you or reduce your pain if you believe that it is an effective medicine. This is interesting. Means your beliefs play great role in healing.
A positive attitude helps people recover faster from surgery or cope better with serious diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and AIDS. Studies have shown that the patient’s expectations of improvement may affect the outcomes.
Tom Hopkins says, “Being miserable is a habit; being happy is a habit; and the choice is yours.” So develop a habit of positive thinking. You cannot tailor-make the situations in life but you can tailor-make the attitudes to fit those situations. There is an opportunity hidden in every problem and positive thinkers train themselves to find that opportunity. They know how to turn every problem into a stepping stone.
The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his thoughts, beliefs and attitudes. Nothing truly stops you or hold you except your own limiting beliefs. Your beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy. Situations are neutral, you give meaning to them. So learn to create a meaning which can empower you. You have the power to make yourself happy or unhappy today, use that power wisely. You literally become what you think. You are the writer and creator of your own life story.
